خلاصه داستان : «هوارد مارنر» (پندلتن)، رئيس شرکت روبات سازي نووا، آخرين محصولات خط توليد روبات هاي نظامي اش را در برابر مهمانان به نمايش مي گذارد. اما «شماره ي پنج» - يکي از روبات ها - در اثر صاعقه، از برنامه ي عادي اش فراتر مي رود و داراي شعور و اراده مي شود.

After a lightning bolt zaps a robot named Number 5, the lovable machine starts to think he's human and escapes the lab. Hot on his trail is his designer, Newton, who hopes to get to Number 5 before the military does. In the meantime, a spunky animal lover mistakes the robot for an alien and takes him in, teaching her new guest about life on Earth.

A large spider from the jungles of South America is accidentally transported in a crate with a dead body to America where it mates with a local spider. Soon after, the residents of a small California town disappear as the result of spider bites from the deadly spider offspring. It's up to a couple of doctors with the help of an insect exterminator to annihilate these eight legged freaks.
